Door County has been part of Ben & Genna’s story since the very beginning- like, early dating, lets-escape-here-any-chance-we-get beginning. It quickly became their place. The spot they returned to over and over to explore, slow down, and just be together. So when Ben proposed at Door 44, it only made Door County feel even more like home. When it came time to plan their wedding, there was truly no other option. A Door County wedding just made sense.
They tied the knot at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor, and from the jump this day felt different in the best way. Everything felt un-rushed, the timeline was relaxed, there was space to breathe, and no one was worried about sticking to a script.
Instead of building the reception around tradition for tradition’s sake, they built it around connection. Time to actually hang out with friends and family. Time to laugh, move, and soak it all in. When it came time to feeding a room full of their favorite people, they kept it just as real: pizza and wings in an atmosphere that felt effortlessly fun and true to them.

What I loved most about photographing this wedding day was how much room there was to just be. No rushing, no forcing moments. Just people showing up fully for each other. From the way friends and family moved through the space and packed the dance floor, everything felt honest and alive. This day is a perfect example of how wedding photography doesn’t have to follow a script to tell a meaningful story. You can learn more about my wedding photography here.
